Solutions to Concrete Batching Plant Failures 2

Brief Introduction:This article discusses how to solve problems of failure in discharge door opening and conveyor belt deviation of stationary and mobile concrete batching plant.

In a previous article Solutions to Concrete Batching Plant Failures 1 we have dealt with four common problems of failures in a concrete batching plant. This article discusses how to solve problems of failure in discharge door opening and conveyor belt deviation of stationary and mobile concrete batching plant.

  5. Failure in opening of discharge door of concrete mixer

If a stationary concrete mixer fails to open its discharge door, there are five possible reasons. First, foreign matter or concrete accumulation exists between the discharge door and the sealing plate; Second, insufficient pressure in the pneumatic system leads to leakage in the cylinder or damage to the oil mist; Third, disconnection, virtual connection or relay damage of the solenoid valve and the relay; Fourth, the solenoid valve coil is burnt or the spool is stuck; Fifth, the time relay is damaged, causing the PLC to lack normal input signal.

  6. Conveyor belt deviation

The conveyor belt of a stationary concrete batching plant might be caused by unevenness of the foundation, the flat roller binder, the left and right unbalance of the grooved roller, and the unbalanced portion of the main and passive rollers. If the conveyor belt runs away from the same side under no-load and loading conditions, it means the tightness on both sides of the conveyor belt is different or the rack is not flat. In such a case, the base of the rack should be leveled first, the adhesive on the flat roller removed, and the tensioning mechanism screw or counterweight should be adjusted. If there is no fixed direction in the left and right direction of the conveyor belt, it means the conveyor belt is slack and the tensioning mechanism should be adjusted. If the conveyor belt is deflected in the middle of the conveyor, it can be corrected by adjusting the position of the roller set.

The adjustment of the reversing drum is an important part of the conveyor belt deviation adjustment. The installation position of the drum must be perpendicular to the center line of the conveying direction of the conveyor, otherwise deviation will occur. If the conveyor belt is deflected to the right side, the bearing housing on the right side should be moved forward (or the left bearing housing should be moved backwards). If, on the other hand, the conveyor belt is offset to the left side of the drum, the left bearing housing should be moved forward (or the right bearing housing moved back).
